Out and Back

I’m from Seattle originally, but now I live in South Carolina. I’m in my mid-thirties.

I’ve been trying to be a writer since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I dream of owning a ’59 Chevy El Camino, but I drive an ’09 Honda Civic. I love the Rolling Stones and the architectural style known as Googie. I have two cats and for the first time in about a secade, I’m a single woman again.

Before I lived in South Carolina, I lived in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Yes, I know the Billy Joel song.

I adore baseball, but I can’t for the life of me explain the infield fly rule without re-reading it first.

Coney Island is my spiritual home.

I’m unabashedly liberal, a diehard feminist, and I’m not afraid to raise my voice. When someone calls me a bitch, I take it as a compliment.

I can’t function in the morning without at least two cups of coffee. I also roast my own coffee beans.
